If the Fringe Festival was an excuse to whip our first-floor studio into shape, then the Passyunk Square Civic Association Home Tour is prodding us to finish all those annoying home projects we’ve postponed for months.
Passyunk Square is among the city’s hottest neighborhoods, and this tour is your opportunity to peek behind some fun front doors in the area bounded by Broad and 6th, Washington and Tasker…
(A corner of our 1950s living & dining room with an oversized Isaiah Zagar mosaic – okay, so we weren’t thinking very clearly – and reupholstered thrift-shop sofas)
ALL THE DETAILS….
The home tour is a self-guided adventure on Saturday, Oct. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, or can be purchased for $25 starting at 11 a.m. on Oct. 17 at Benna’s Cafe, 1236 S. 8th Street. (NOTE: This is also where you’ll start the tour…)
(A view of our Art Deco sitting room. See how many people you can identify on our handmade valence. Hint: That’s Kate’s favorite Philadelphia TV cowgirl at center.)
Your ticket includes a tour booklet and admission to the homes, a free slice of cheese pizza at Slice, and admission to the after-party at the newly renovated Triangle Tavern, 1338 S. 10th Street. Starting at 3 p.m., you’ll receive a complimentary drink and food specials there, and a raffle will showcase Passyunk Square restaurants and shops.
READY TO EXPLORE?
Check out the Passyunk Square Civic Association website for details and to learn about their other projects. And remember, we’re counting on you – after all, someone has to tell us about all those other homes…!
(Come on up and see us sometime –
specifically, Oct. 17 from noon to 4 p.m…)
